Help Us Restore the Roseville General Store

Our wordays have been very productive. Many family members have volunteered. Thank you everyone!

July 25th & 26th turned out to be great days to work at the store. What beautiful weather!!! We have never seen July be this cool.
Sunny, nice breeze, tons of laughs, and lots of work completed. Picnic lunch was tasty too.
We scrubbed and painted shelving and continued work on the canopy. It is really looking awesome.
THANK YOU to Richard and Dian, Regina and Todd, Katie and Chris, Joe and Steve Barry, and Rolly.
We hope to have Mike Koenigsfeld measure the big window and the door window Aug 3rd. We think he will have it in place by Labor Day.

Prior to August, 2009

Lots of progress on Saturday.  The large meat case was loaded in through the big front windows.  Some more shelves were built.  A new light was wired into the back steps.  The canopy received its first coat of primer.  No one fell from any of the precarious perches.

Workday update: 08/27/09

Window pitures--a crew showed up to help Mike Koenigsfeld of Stock Glass install the huge front window and the window in the door. Thank you for doing this for us Mike!!! Julie Reese washed windows, and cleaned the store so we could begin putting things on the shelves. Kyle Rule helped Mary put up posters that tell the story of the store from 1903-to the present. More of Richard Wyborney, Charles City. He volunteered to do the brick work and put up the piers on the service bay canopy.  Wonderful job! This original stove was donated back to us from Dean Walker in memory of Marge Shindelarr Walker. You can see part of this stove in a photo of Peter Koenigsfeld taken sometime in the 30's. This is the coke machine donated back to the store by Jerry "the Fonze" and Linda Ott ( David would you check from what is already on the website to be sure I have listed their names right?) There are photos of Wayne and Anna Mae Stratton painting the back door and steps. Giving it a primer coat and it looks great!
